The application of consciousness-raising in teaching translation in a Vietnamese tertiary English language program

چکیده
The study explores the application of consciousness-raising (CR), an effective teaching method in language teaching, into translation. In CR involves attempt to draw students’ attention textual features. Studies present diverse evidence for effectiveness teaching. current incorporates workshops on translation and investigates whether students are aware specific aspects process after workshops. methodology was based a contrastive examination qualitative analysis written spoken reflections tasks solutions both before demonstrated that workshops, commented some text features had been introduced which they not expressed awareness also showed strategies, such as foreignisation domestication, were taught during even though did use all these when completing post-workshop task. Students noticed applied less complex more salient. This paper presents practical implications material development curriculum design within research context well similar programs.
